Tokyo Anime Fair 2012

The Tokyo International Anime Fair is organized annually by the Metropolitan Government of Tokyo to showcase Tokyo’s highly lucrative animation and licensing industry. This year’s edition will be held from the 22nd to the 25th of March 2012 at Tokyo Big Sight; last year’s event was unfortunately cancelled due to the March 2011 natural disasters.

Aside from being a trade fair and a convention for fans of animation and anime merchandise, the event also hosts exhibits, forums, and the announcement of winners for the Tokyo Anime Awards.

The Tokyo Anime Awards are given to outstanding works of animation from the previous year in two main categories: “Nomination Entries” for works chosen from outstanding animated films that have seen commercial release; and “Open Entries” for animation work from throughout the world solicited from the general public.
