Ongaku Society with T-Tees and magnetic-rose.net brought together X fans from all over Manila to Katipunan’s Route 196 for Ongaku on the Verge: an X Japan Tribute Gig. The event was organized to coincide with the X Japan 2011 World Tour — with stops in London, Paris, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Tokyo.
The event featured performances by Do ‘Ahou, Himitsu Heiki, Moonspeak, Onigiri Infusion, PPF All-Stars, Schiff, and featuring Konata Fans Club, Molded Sushi and Ultramarine Weather. There were also plenty of prizes given away by T-TEES and magnetic-rose.net, including official OS Tees and Merchandise and a pair of mix-style Headphones.
Highlights of the evening included Ultramarine Weather’s rendition of Rusty Nail with guest vocalist Neil of Do ‘Ahou, Himitsu Heiki’s back-to-back superhits Forever Love by X Japan and Anata by L’Arc~en~Ciel, and Do ‘Ahou’s hard-harder-hardest performance of X Japan’s X and Kurenai! We all had a great time, and we hope to see everybody back at the next OS gig in early 2012!
